Spring is a time of renewal, for change and for new beginnings too. This is a time to plant new seeds in your life while weeding out the old habits and stories that you tell yourself that are no longer working for you. Feng Shui has some advice about cleansing and cleaning your house this (and every) spring. Firstly, go to your bedroom and take down/remove any images, pictures or statues of deities, family members and especially of your children. This is a room for intimacy and physical love and any of those aforementioned images can preclude you totally letting yourself go and dive into passion and sensual behaviors.
Invite opportunity into your life and let it flow right through your front door by cleansing that area and making sure there is no clutter – shoes, boxes to be sent, etc.- precluding all that good stuff to come and visit.
Cleanse and clear as well by using either sandalwood or frankincense incense. Light an incense stick and, beginning at the front door, walk the main floor of your living space by walking in a clockwise direction while allowing the smoke to freshen and lighten your living space. If you want to make this cleanse even more effective, open windows and doors when you are allowing the smoke to cleanse your space. This will also help to ventilate as well as raising the energy level in your home.
Finally, if you have any sort of water feature in your home, be sure to clean it and put fresh water inside of it. This will bring you a TON of optimism, enthusiasm, recognition, rewards and, most wonderfully, hope!
